I was very honoured to be included in Hero Complex Gallery's (in my case, ironically titled) "Young Guns" invitational show which opened this evening in Los Angeles.
All the contributors had to pick a mini theme for three or more pieces of work - I chose to illustrate my very earliest memories of what you might term "pop - culture" and went with three images based on Doctor Who from the late 60's.
So we have a Cyberman, specifically from the story "The Invasion" (1968) which has always been my favourite version of the Cyberman design. Then The Doctor as played by Patrick Troughton between 1966 and 1969. Finally the Doctor's persistent foe, The Dalek, based on the design seen in "The Power of The Daleks" and "The Evil of The Daleks" - both these episodes sadly lost thanks to the BBC's unique archiving system at the time (i.e they were erased so that they could reuse the tapes!!!).
Thanks again to Adam and Soua of Hero Complex Gallery for their support and enthusiasm.
